Karen Palmer the LSCFT Research Nurse Manager says: "I am extremely proud of how far we have come and now the facility is open I’m looking forward to seeing how our dynamic research teams use it to the benefit of the people we serve. The sky is the limit.”
Gemma Whiteley, Head of Research and Innovation at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals says: “The quality of the facility we have been able to develop is a credit to the hard work and commitment shown by all those involved from both Trusts in making this dream a reality. We are proud to have involved patients and the public in developing the look and feel of the CRF and can’t wait to hear their feedback on what they helped to produce.”
The facility has one inpatient room, and three outpatient rooms, including a full size standard bed providing comfort for longer stays, an integrated ceiling hoist leading to a wet room, TV access providing entertainment and space for consulting and venepuncture. The facility houses a Clinical laboratory for sample processing and short term storage of samples, office space, meeting rooms and a large secure filing room.
