    Join Dementia Research - Join Dementia Research’ is a campaign that has been launched along with the Prime Ministers’ Dementia Challenge and has been developed by the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR). David Cameron has set out the ambition that at least 10% of people living with dementia should be participating in research; the current figure is 4.5%.

    Anybody who is affected by dementia can register their interest to get involved in research. We offer a range of studies from complex cutting edge drug trials to simple quality of life questionnaire studies, and we are constantly setting up new studies - Healthtalkonline is the award-winning website of the DIPEx charity. Healthtalkonline and its sister website, Youthhealthtalk, let you share in more than 2,000 people's experiences of over 60 health-related conditions and illnesses. You can watch video or listen to audio clips of the interviews, read about people's experiences if you prefer and find reliable information about specific conditions, treatment choices and support

    Public and patient opportunities - National Institute for Health Research Patient and Public Awareness – where you can find information about how patients and members of the public can be more involved in research - Clinical Trials and Medical Research - this web site provides information about the different types of research and how patients and members of the public can get involved - The UK Clinical Trials Gateway provides easy to understand information about clinical research trials running in the UK, and gives access to a large range of information about these trials. It is designed to enable you and your clinician to locate and contact trials of interest to you - People in Research - a web-based resource for members of the public who are looking for opportunities to get involved in research INVOLVE was established in 1996 and is part of, and funded by, the National Institute for Health Research, to support active public involvement in NHS, public health and social care research - The North West People in Research Forum is a new organisation which is devoted to supporting patient and public involvement (PPI) and public engagement in health research in the North West

    Patient Research Ambassadors - If you are already involved in your local NHS care organisation as a volunteer or as a patient and public involvement representative within the NIHR, or have no involvement at all but interested in becoming a Patient Research Ambassador then registering your interest allows you to be notified of upcoming opportunities both locally and nationally.
