The Mindsmatter team, previously known as Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) has partnered with SilverCloud to provide a new online therapy programme for people in Lancashire. The programme, which usually lasts between 6 to 12 weeks, offers online support and guidance using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to help people who may not have previously thought about accessing help for issues such as sleeping problems, stress, depression, anxiety, panic and much more.
SilverCloud is an online system which service users can chose during their Welcome Call with the Mindsmatter team. The programme uses a range of resources including tutorial videos and guidance on how to approach situations and an online workbook for users to record their experiences and progress during the course. Users are also provided with a local supporter, a member of the Mindsmatter team, who is on hand to provide weekly or fortnightly support and add notes to the programme as it continues. As well as online support, users have the opportunity to request telephone support if they feel they need to speak to a member of the team.
Emma Nazurally, Service Manager for Mindsmatter at Lancashire Care NHS Foundation Trust said:
"We are delighted to be able to offer SilverCloud to people across Lancashire. It is a great package that is accessible to anyone who feels they would benefit from it, as well as being a good way for people to access support especially those who may not previously have thought to seek our help or who may be put off by face to face sessions. There are a range of benefits to using this programme including the flexibility and user-friendly approach it provides to allow users to get the most out of the programme to help improve their mental health and overall wellbeing."
