Phil Gooden, Mindsmatter Service Manager at Lancashire Care NHS Foundation Trust said:
“Around 1 in 4 of us will experience some form of mental health problem during our lives, so it is important people are aware of the support available to them, and that this support is accessed as soon as possible. We are aware that stigma surrounding mental health can result in people trying to avoid seeking help for many reasons; however we want to make access as easy as possible. We are pleased to be able to offer an online self-referral form for people who are experiencing mild to moderate mental health problems. The form provides a quick and easy process which people can access from the comfort of their own home and refer themselves directly to our team. Once the referral is received, the individual will receive a Welcome Call from a team member and from there they will discuss the various options available for therapy and create a tailor-made programme to help with their recovery.”
