Local Trust appoints new Non-Executive Director

Lancashire Care NHS Foundation Trust has appointed Julia Possener as Non-Executive Director following an in-house recruitment process led by the Trust’s Governors.

Julia has previously undertaken a Non-Executive Director role for Calderstones Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (now Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust) and brings with her a wealth of experience. Julia has worked at Board level in the NHS and also has a professional background as a Corporate Finance lawyer in a number of senior legal, governance, compliance and business roles in both private and financial services.

Heather Tierney-Moore, Chief Executive at Lancashire Care NHS Foundation Trust speaks of her appointment:

“We’re absolutely delighted to welcome Julia to the Board and look forward to the skills and expertise that she will bring to the Trust. Julia joins us having had experience at another NHS organisation and we hope that this experience will help with the development and improvement of the services we provide for people within Lancashire.”


Julia Possener newly appointed Non-Executive Director at Lancashire Care NHS Foundation Trust said: 

“I am very excited to be joining Lancashire Care as Non-Executive Director. As I live in Lancaster it is an honour to support Lancashire and the surrounding community which has made me so welcome since I moved here from London.

“I look forward to the challenges ahead during this pressured time within the NHS and hope to build on the skills and knowledge I have gained over the years and to make a valuable contribution to the Trust and its future direction.”

Julia replaces Nassem Malik who resigned as a Non-Executive Director in July 2016. She has been appointed for a term of three years with effect from 1 February 2017.
