Local residents are invited to a number of ‘Run for Change’ events as part of Mental Health Awareness Week 2017.
Lancashire Care NHS Foundation Trust’s Central Community Restart Team is joining forces with South Ribble Runners, Revolution Runners and Edge Hill to raise awareness for Mental Health Awareness Week. The day is for members of the public to come along and tackle the stigma around mental health by getting as many people as possible talking about it. All abilities are welcome so whether you run regularly or have never ran before come and join one of the team’s friendly sessions.
David Murphy from the Central Community Restart Team at Lancashire Care NHS Foundation Trust said:
“Around one in four people will experience some form of mental health issue in their life. Sometimes the pressures of everyday life can become too much for people to manage, and there are around a quarter of a million people off work every year with mental health problems. With this is mind we really want to get as many people in Lancashire involved in the events and encourage as many conversations as possible around mental health.
“We are really looking forward to the events, to be working in partnership with so many other organisations in Lancashire to support Mental Health Awareness Week 2017!”
