Still time to return to nursing!

Posted on the 11th July 2017

A local health provider is holding an event this week for nurses who are interested in returning to nursing.

Lancashire Care NHS Foundation Trust provides a range of health and wellbeing services across Lancashire and surrounding areas and is on the lookout for innovative, hard-working Healthcare Support Workers who are passionate about providing excellent patient care to join their busy team within a secure setting at Guild Lodge in Preston. Guild Lodge offers both medium and low secure inpatient mental health and community services.

People will have the support of a Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) Mentor and be paid to attend the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) part time over a twelve week period commencing in October 2017. The Trust has a range of employment options that offer flexibility to suit all. Health Education England’s return to practice programme supports nurses on their journey back on to the register and back in to their nursing career.

Damian Gallagher, Director of Human Resources at Lancashire Care NHS Foundation Trust said:

“Our staff are absolutely our most valuable asset and we’re extremely proud of our nursing workforce. We’re on the lookout for people who are passionate about providing high quality care and want to come to work to make a difference. If this sounds like something you are interested in please get in touch with us to find out more!”

Josie Shaw, Healthcare Assistant at Lancashire Care NHS Foundation Trust said:

“Guild Lodge is one big community and everybody does their best to help each other out. We see patients coming in to our medium secure ward and can follow them through their care on to a low secure ward, to step down and then hopefully back out in to the community. It’s really nice be able to be a part of that and help that person on their journey!”

The recruitment event will take place on 12 July 2017 from 6.30-8.00pm at Guild Lodge, Whittingham Lane, Preston PR3 2JH.
