Health staff celebrating a year of achievements!

Posted on the 27th March 2018

Individuals and teams united to celebrate the achievements of healthcare staff across Lancashire at an annual Staff Awards ceremony and to mark the 70th anniversary of the NHS.

Lancashire Care NHS Foundation Trust’s Staff Awards ceremony was held in Blackpool last week and provided an opportunity for staff to cheer on their colleagues who had been nominated for one of 12 categories. Brand new to this year, the awards also saw the Amazing Care Award which was nominated and voted for by members of the public.

Heather Tierney-Moore, Chief Executive at Lancashire Care NHS Foundation Trust, said:

“We have seen the awards grow in popularity over the years and this year was particularly special as the NHS will be celebrating its 70th birthday this year since it was founded in 1948. The Staff Awards is not just about having a bit of fun, but really about sharing the high quality care that staff deliver every day. Our staff are extremely dedicated to providing the best services and the awards provide an opportunity to celebrate their achievements and inspire others to do the same.

“As always, the standard of nominations was very high and it proved to be a difficult task shortlisting in each of the categories. Everyone who was nominated should be very proud of their work and those who received an award this year are great examples of staff who go above and beyond in their roles.”

Sue Moore, Chief Operating Officer at Lancashire Care NHS Foundation Trust, said:

“It was a wonderful evening and you could see how proud people were of their colleagues as we heard the stories of each of the shortlisted nominees. The fact the awards are growing in popularity each year is testament to our staff who provide such great work across the footprint and I’m delighted we are able to offer such an event to honour the quality work that takes place on a daily basis.”

Winners were awarded with a trophy and there was also recognition for colleagues who just missed out on a winning spot but who still deserved a special mention.

The evening was held at the Village Hotel in Blackpool and was sponsored by CDC Ltd, Creative World, Fendix Media, Hempsons, Innovation Agency, Newton, Priory Group and SF Taylor.
