Over 300 health professionals united last week to celebrate their achievements at Lancashire Care NHS Foundation Trust’s annual Staff Awards ceremony.
The event was held at the DeVere Hotel, Herons` Reach in Blackpool on Friday 28 March and successful staff won awards in 10 categories. These included the Chair’s Award for Unsung Hero, an award dedicated to Compassionate Care and a Service User and Carer Involvement Award. This year the Trust added the People’s Choice Award which gave members of the public the opportunity to vote for a health professional or team who has made a real difference to their healthcare experience.
Heather Tierney-Moore, Chief Executive at Lancashire Care said:
“I know I’m not alone when I say I really look forward to the Staff Awards ceremony and celebrating some of the outstanding work that goes on throughout different areas of the county.
“It was great to see so many people attend to celebrate their achievements and the achievements of others. The staff and work that has been shortlisted this year was inspirational and I hope that each and every member of staff who was nominated feels proud of their achievement.”
Derek Brown, the Trust’s Chair said:
“The Staff Awards evening is a great way to commemorate a year’s worth of hard work and dedication and it makes me feel proud to a part of a workforce that strives to deliver excellent care to the people of Lancashire.”
Winners were presented with a trophy and there was also recognition for some of the outstanding nominations that just missed out on winning an award but which nevertheless deserved an honourable mention.
The event was sponsored by Corporate Design Company (CDC) Limited, Ryhurst Limited, OCS Facilities Management and VINCI Construction UK.
