The Nursing Times Awards recognise, celebrate and support the achievements of the nursing community and have shortlisted Lancashire Care NHS Foundation Trust for a prestigious award.
Lancashire Care’s East Lancashire Community Restart Team have been successfully shortlisted in the ‘Team of the Year’ category for demonstrating the value of teamwork by working in partnership with other specialties to improve a service.
The shortlist follows on from some collaborative work that the team undertook with internal and external organisations to build resilience in local communities across a range of areas that include social inclusion, peer support groups, employment, housing and carer support.
The nomination specifically recognised the clinical leadership provided by a nurse-led service in East Lancashire, which enabled the Community Restart Service to work with people with increasingly complex mental health presentations and ensure staff are clinically supervised to manage these needs effectively.
Gillian Halsall, Deputy Service Manager for Community Restart, said:
“I am absolutely delighted that the team has been nominated for the ‘Team of the Year’ category at this year’s Nursing Times Awards and to be recognised for this work nationally. This is a fantastic achievement for the staff and they are all committed to providing excellent outcomes for the people who use our services. As a manager I am very proud to work with such amazing people who bring about real positive change in our local communities!”
Winners will be announced at a glittering evening on 30 October 2019 at Grovenor House Hotel in London.
