Clinical excellence, patient safety, leadership, teamwork, improvement, compassion and inclusion were celebrated at the Trust’s Time to Shine Awards last night (Thursday 24 September).

Courtesy of generous contributions from sponsors, the annual award in-person ceremony returned, after a year’s hiatus.

Hosted at the Winter Gardens in Blackpool, over 450 colleagues, partners and sponsors came together to reward and recognise the outstanding work and contributions made by teams and individuals over the past 12 months.

This year, 11 awards were up for grabs at a spectacular event hosted by our Interim Chief Executive, Dr Gareth Thomas, who was joined by actress, radio presenter and health and wellbeing advocate, Gemma Atkinson, who expressed her strong support for the NHS and our work.

Members of our Board announced the winners, as well as those who were highly commended in the categories they sponsored.

Interim Chief Executive and Time to Shine Award host, Dr Gareth Thomas, said: “The Time to Shine Awards are one of the highlights of our year because they give us the opportunity to celebrate the incredible people who make our Trust what it is. Every day, colleagues across Lancashire and South Cumbria go above and beyond for our patients, families, carers and each another.

“The quality of nominations this year was exceptional and showcased the compassion, innovation, leadership and teamwork that can be found right across our organisation. Congratulations to all of our winners, those who were highly commended, and everyone who was nominated. They truly represent the very best of our Trust and should be incredibly proud of what they have achieved.”

Liz Forster, who is part of the PNA and Supervision Team, who scooped the Support Team of the Year award, praised the event saying: "It was so lovely to see our Trust coming together, connecting and celebrating each other. There were so many amazing people in one room a real reminder of what a fantastic team we are!

"A huge well done to everyone recognised and celebrated, and a massive thank you to the organisers for helping make the evening so special. We definitely are a team!"
