    First Step is piloting an additional type of psychological therapy which is available online across Cumbria supported by our First Step practitioners via regular review appointments.

    To access this option, please refer yourself to First Step (or ask your GP or Practice Nurse for a referral) and during your assessment your practitioner can discuss this treatment option with you and if it is likely to be helpful they can arrange access to the system and book your first appointment with one of our online facilitators.     National guidelines recommend the use of cCBT by people with mild to moderate depression or anxiety, therefore for some people cCBT will not be appropriate and in that case we may offer one-to-one therapy.

    We are working with SilverCloud to offer secure online access to evidence based self-help Cognitive Behavioural Therapy programmes that are proven to help with anxiety, stress and depression. Access is immediate and free from wherever you need it.
