The Scarisbrick unit is based within the premises of Ormskirk District General Hospital; it provides care and treatment for adult service users who are showing signs and symptoms of acute functional mental illness. Service users are from the population of Lancashire, predominately from West Lancashire, Chorley, South Ribble & Preston areas. The Scarisbrick Unit forms part of Central Lancashire Step 5 Health Economy within Lancashire and South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust (LSCFT).
Scarisbrick Inpatient Unit is situated on the grounds of Ormskirk District General Hospital.
Scarisbrick Inpatient Unit (SIPU) which is a 21 bedded unit providing 11 male & 9 female beds (the ward has a mixture of dormitories and single rooms with en-suite facilities) which conforms to national guidance for mixed sex accommodation. Service users have access to single sex lounges but share communal areas and the dining area are shared.
How to access the service
Referrals for beds are made via the Crisis Resolution and Home Treatment Team (CRHTT) who provide a gatekeeping service to the wards. We do not accept referrals from the public.
