The NIHR Clinical Research Network (CRN) is the clinical research delivery arm of the NHS. They are responsible for ensuring the effective delivery of research thorughout the North West Coast area. For more information please visit: North West Coast Clinical Research Network (NWC CRN).
We work with a number of commercial Industry partners on complex clinical trials for our patients.

North West Coast Academic Health Sciences Network (NWCAHSN)
We host the innovation agency in the North West Coast (AHSN).
The role of the newly designated AHSCs will be to increase strategic alignment of NHS providers and their university partner, specifically in world-class research, health education and patient care, in order to improve health and healthcare delivery including through increased translation of discoveries from basic science into benefits for patients.
AHSCs provide an important contribution to economic growth through their impacts on health outcomes and through research collaborations with the life sciences industry.
Lancaster Health Hub
The Hub was established in 2010 to enable an increase in NHS / University / Industry collaborative research in health and medicine across Lancashire and Cumbria. This includes working with NHS partner Trusts across the region as well as with other key organisations including the NIHR North west Coast Clinical Research Network (NWC CRN) and the NIHR Research Design Service for the North West (NIHR RDS NW).
