Children’s Psychological Services – Blackburn with Darwen Fast Track Team
About our service
The Blackburn with Darwen Fast Track Service is a collaborative service provided jointly by Lancashire and South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust and Blackburn with Darwen Local Authority. The fast track team provide expert clinical psychological assessment of the emotional and psychological needs of Looked After Children to support Social work care planning for the child’s permanent placement. The team also offer therapeutic and life-story work for children with complex needs as they prepare to move into an adoptive or alternative permanent placement. Fast Track aslo works alongside the post adoption service in Blackburn with Darwen to provide therapeutic support to children who have been adopted and their families. The Fast Track team also provides expert consultation and training to other professionals involved in supporting children who are looked after by the local authority or who have been adopted.
How to Access this service:Referral criteria:
The Fast Track service takes referrals from social workers within Blackburn with Darwen Children’s Services including the post-adoption support service. All referrals are managed by the Adoption Team Manager.
Where is the service provided from:The service is based with the Adoption Team at 10 Duke Street in Blackburn. However much of the work is undertaken in service users homes or children’s centres across Lancashire.
