What does a Governor do?
- Represent the views of the patients, public, Trust members and colleagues, particularly in relation to the Trust’s strategic direction and when services are being developed.
- Hold the non-executive directors to account for performance of the Board as a whole.
- Annually review the extent to which the Trust is meeting its vision to provide the best mental health, learning disability, autism, and community-based services for the populations we serve.
- Work with the Board of Directors on other matters for the benefit of the Trust.
Do I need qualifications to be a governor?
There aren’t any qualifications needed to become a governor. What matters most is having enthusiasm, being open to asking questions and offering constructive challenge, wanting to make a positive impact, and being willing to engage with the community - talking to people about the Trust and listening to their experiences of health and care in Lancashire and South Cumbria.
