In December we told you how we had been working with Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (LTHTR) and the Lancashire and South Cumbria Integrated Care Board (ICB) to identify alternative accommodation for future patients who require services Longridge Hospital delivers for the community of Central Lancashire.
We are now pleased to announce that the 15 inpatient beds previously available at Longridge have temporarily relocated to the Cuerden Ward at Chorley Hospital, meaning new patients can be received and cared for there. As with Longridge, this service will be managed by Lancashire and South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust (LSCFT) and it will be the same teams who deliver the care.
Thank you to everyone, including colleagues and our partners at LTHTR and the ICB, who have worked to set this new temporary provision up to support our patients and families.
Please note that Longridge Hospital remains open and outpatient clinics currently located at the site will continue to operate as normal. Please continue to attend appointments there if they have been scheduled.
