Congratulations to Community Learning Disability Nurse, Daniel Branch who has been invited to celebrate the King’s Coronation at Westminster Abbey on Saturday.

Daniel works in our intensive support learning disability team in the West Lancashire locality and is based at Ormskirk Hospital and Greenbank in Preston.

The intensive support teams (IST) provide specialist assessment and assertive interventions for young people and adults with a learning disability aged 16 years and above, who are at immediate risk of placement breakdown or hospital admission due to having complex health needs or mental health distress.

Daniel received a British Empire Medal in 2021 which he was presented with at Liverpool Town Hall in November 2021 for his work during the pandemic.

Daniel adds:

I am hugely surprised but very proud to have been invited. I hope in a small way, I can increase people’s awareness of learning disability nursing.”

In his spare time, he does various outreach work with his church and volunteers for the Samaritans near his home.

Daniel has worked in his current role at the Trust since graduating from the University of Chester in 2017.

We can’t wait to hear all about Daniel’s experiences on this historic day!
