NHS Staff Survey results have revealed that we have improved in all 10 key areas covered in the annual survey.

As a result, the Trust has been included in the top 10 most improved mental health trusts for:

  • When staff were asked if they’d be happy with the standard of care if a friend or family member needed it
  • When it came to recommending the Trust as a place to work

Welcoming the news, proud chief executive Caroline Donovan said:

“These results really do deserve to be celebrated by everyone who is connected with our Trust. We all know what an incredibly tough year it has been for the NHS and for our hardworking staff who have been right on the frontline of the coronavirus pandemic.

“It’s fantastic that despite everything they’ve faced, they have been committed to embracing new ways of working and constantly improving services in partnership with our service users and carers. This has been a real team effort – one I have been proud to lead.”

Each year, the NHS Staff Survey measures staff experiences and opinions across a range of areas.

The results show the Trust has performed above the national sector average for Mental Health, Community and Learning Disability Trusts, in areas including equality, diversity and inclusion and safe environments.

Caroline, a registered nurse who is passionate about delivering high quality patient-centred services, added:

“The staff survey is a really important tool in helping us keep a check on how our staff are feeling and what areas we really need to focus on to help support them in their valuable work.

We are really pleased with these results for the 2020 survey, but we absolutely will not be resting on our laurels.

One of our top priorities is to make sure we provide a really great and safe place to work, and also one where our staff can continue to learn and develop.”

The Trust is currently recruiting to a number of areas, including nursing.
