More than 100 student nurses and allied health professionals from different universities came together at the sold-out event at Grasshoppers in Preston. It gave them the opportunity to learn from each other and widen their understanding of different professions.
Students had the opportunity to participate in nine breakout activity stations which included a CPR race, mental health myth busting, meaningful occupations, and learning disability stations, with our nursing colleagues as guest speakers to help them gain a better understanding of what the Trust offers to colleagues and service users.
The event was also an opportunity to showcase the professional investment the Trust makes to develop students, with 18 different stalls from different teams and areas across Lancashire and South Cumbria. Both community and inpatient services showcased their work to students and The Royal College of Nursing was on hand to talk to students about developing their careers.
The celebration included speakers from a whole host of services, and various patient lived experience speakers shared their personal stories of recovery, inspiring the future healthcare professionals with their emotive journeys.
Our student events are held bi-annually.
