The Phlebotomy Service is provided to enable patients in the Central Lancashire and Blackburn with Darwen access to blood clinics when tests have been requested.
Please note: this service is only available in Preston, Chorley, South Ribble and Blackburn with Darwen
The service also runs drop-in Anticoagulant clinics, along with Enhanced needs and Paediatric Clinics that are appointment only.
Where the service is provided
Blood test clinics are provided within GP surgeries across Preston, Chorley and South Ribble. Days and times of clinics are available from the surgery and all are run via an appointment system. Appointments are booked directly with the surgery.
The drop-in blood clinics at Chorley and Preston Hospitals are currently prioritising only clinically urgent tests for patients as a result of reduced staffing.
These urgent clinics will be available between 8.30am and 12.30pm Monday to Friday.
You should only attend one of these hospital clinics for a blood test if your doctor or consultant has instructed you that it is urgent and appropriate to do so.
If you require a blood test which is not urgent and your doctor or clinician feels you do not need to attend the hospital for this then you should book an appointment at one of the community clinics available across Preston, Chorley or South Ribble.
See individual clinic listings for contact information.
