In March 2022 we opened our new mental health rehabilitation service in Wesham. The service is be based at the former Wesham Hospital Rehabilitation site on Mowbreck Lane.

‘Moving on’ is a term used to describe care that helps people to live independently and this new service offers a new mental health pathway that sits between acute care and community living. The centre has 28 beds for people who have been in hospital and need some support to regain skills and confidence with everyday tasks such as cooking, cleaning and looking after their own health and wellbeing.

The centre, which was designed collaboratively with staff and service users, includes all en-suite bedrooms, an amazing kitchen space to allow for all service users to be self-catering, living and activity spaces, different garden spaces (including poly-tunnels and raised beds) and a community café at the entrance. The centre will offer service users a holistic approach including learning opportunities that help lead people towards happier and more fulfilling lives.
