A local artist has used her own past experiences and creativity to spread inspirational messages at a mental health ward in Blackburn. Rachel Jackson is a mural artist dedicated to supporting mental health charities and Rachel visited the Trust's Calder Ward at Pendleview located at the Royal Blackburn Hospital.

With over 680,000 students starting their university studies this month, we are reminding students that mental health support is available for them.

Voting is now open for our People’s Choice Award at our annual Time to Shine Awards. This award will recognise those individuals who have been recognised by their peers as "Shining Stars" who have gone the extra mile or via our weekly staff recognition scheme.

We are encouraging people to talk in support of World Suicide Prevention Day on Saturday, September 10th. An estimated 18 people a day in the UK take their own life and for every suicide there are likely 20 other people making a suicide attempt, and many more have thoughts of serious self-harm.

The Cavell Star Awards, launched by The Cavell Nurses’ Trust in 2018, celebrate and honour nurses, midwives, nursing associates and healthcare assistants who show exceptional care to their patients, patient families’ and colleagues.

Caroline Donovan, Chief Executive Officer at Lancashire and South Cumbria Foundation Trust is today announcing her plans to retire next year following a long and successful career in the NHS.
