Significant impact on health services continues as hospitals in Lancashire and South Cumbria get ready for the consultant strikes.

A fantastic day was had by colleagues at yesterday’s Festival of Wellbeing at Brockholes Nature Reserve. It’s the third time we’ve been able to run this event and it was made even more special as the NHS marked its 75th birthday.

A family of current and former healthcare workers are celebrating dedicating almost 200 years’ of service to the NHS, ahead of its 75th birthday on Wednesday (5 July).

A number of our teams have been shortlisted for several awards at this year’s Nursing Times Awards, which recognise the incredible contribution that nursing teams make across the UK.

Following a successful long list process we are delighted to announce the final five names which will now be subject to a public vote to decide the new name for our Recovery College.

“There were no computers at all within the hospital and a manual look-up system was in place to locate health records. The Medical Records department was the first department to introduce computers in 1981!”

A group of colleagues have been selected to attend a special celebration ceremony at Westminster Abbey.

“I thoroughly enjoy being a nurse and working within the NHS. I have made many friends along the way and find everyone to be caring and supportive of each other to ensure the service user’s needs and wishes are always met where possible.”

To celebrate the last day of Learning Disability Awareness week, we want to highlight the incredible work one of our Children’s Learning Disability nurses has done to help a child overcome his fear of dogs.

We have held our inaugural Inclusion and Belonging Conference. Over 200 colleagues gathered at Preston Grasshoppers on Wednesday 21 June to celebrate the improvements and progress made at our Trust and how we can work together to continue to create a culture of inclusion and belonging.
